My mom used to say if someone was rude, angry, did something awful to me or someone I knew, then I should send them LOVE.  She said that when you send someone LOVE, they get what they need.

When I was scared or worried about something such as a high school bus trip to go skiing (because of a bad dream) or flying somewhere because I’m kind of a “nervous nelly”, my mom used to tell me to put a white light around whatever I was scared of (i.e. the bus or the airplane). She also said to imagine angels all around, protecting me.

I didn’t know what these ideas looked like so I made up my own thing.

If someone made me mad or angry, I would visualize a red heart, similar to what you see in the picture above, going toward their chest.  I would also imagine white light showering over them, also similar to the picture.

Every time I get on an airplane, in my mind I see white light wrapping around the entire aircraft.  I’ll picture angels all around and have faith in my heart that all is well.

When I get nervous about performing or teaching or public speaking, I imagine LOVE and white light all around me.

These exercises have always helped me feel safe and empowered.

In today’s world, people are on edge. People are looking over their shoulders more than ever.  There is so much tension and negative energy around and you can feel it if you tune into it.  You know what’s missing?

You guessed it.

LOVE.

We no longer help out our neighbours.  We no longer trust those around us.  We no longer know which way to turn.

If we could all do one thing differently, (you’ll see me say that about a lot of things – but these “one things” really just lead to one another).  I would say we need to Spread The Love Because The World Needs It.

Imagine red and white hearts showering over your neighbourhood.  If you see something like a parent yelling at their kid in an unnecessary way, send the family LOVE.   If you see something that doesn’t feel right, bring LOVE into the situation.   You don’t have to say anything.  Just picture it, feel it and know the LOVE is there.  Then you can believe that the right circumstances will come and help fix what needs to be helped or fixed.

I’ve been doing this since I was a teenager and it makes me feel better immediately everytime.

I would also suggest visualizing LOVE around yourself.  If you are feeling on edge, have anxiety, are depressed, need to be motivated or want to make a change, start by showering LOVE over yourself.

Come up with your own visualization or use the ones I have described here.

My mom passed away in March of 2016 and she taught me so much about the deeper side of life.  I am so grateful for those lessons.  In her memory, I am sending LOVE out as much as possible. More than I ever have.

I have no idea where this story is from, but it’s appropriate here.

A man is riding a subway with his 4 young children.  The kids are behaving badly. They are yelling and running all over the place.  The woman across from them gets extremely irritated at his lack of parenting and she rudely tells the man to do something about his kids.

He lifts his head slowly, looks at her and says, “I am sorry, we are just coming back from my wife’s funeral and I’m not sure what I’m going to do.”

You never know what someone is going through.  When you see something negative or maybe it just SEEMS negative, send LOVE.  You’ll be surprised at how much better you feel when you send out the energy of LOVE.  A smile is filled with LOVE too and very easy to do.

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”  Jimi Hendrix

Just Spread The LOVE. Be LOVE and The LOVE will come back to you in waves.
