Well, these turned out lovely.
Since this recipe was the first of “The Mission”, I am pleased to present you with a lot of pictures!!
Keep in mind, Jesse has not liked quinoa AT ALL. He tried it a while back, but his biggest complaint was that it didn’t taste like anything and he’s been a skeptic ever since. If you’ve ever cooked with quinoa, you know it’s very similar to rice so it picks up the flavour of whatever you are cooking with.
Tip: Add your favorite spices to the water and quinoa while it’s boiling and the quinoa will pick up those flavours.

So, then – it was time to test “The Mission” out. All I ask for is a few bites, an opinion, and a score out of 10. I told him whatever he didn’t eat, I would eat. I didn’t even make myself a plate because I knew he wouldn’t eat it all. I would take what I could get.
So, he ate half of one pepper. After the third bite, he said “this isn’t that bad actually.”
I was shocked. I didn’t know whether or not to tell him what it was. Would he freak out? Is it all in his head? (well, yes it is, but we won’t tell him that just yet). I told him and he said “I know” and I left it at that.
“The Mission” will continue on. I think I’ve got something here and will develop my skills and hopefully Jesse’s taste buds. Perhaps I can break through the pattern that is. I’ve attached a couple pictures of Jesse being a goof while I was cooking. He was overcompensating and pretending to care about the dish. ha.
Stay tuned for the next round of “The Mission”.
